Technical Analysis
From a trend perspective, HOOD continues to exhibit characteristics of a stock in an established uptrend: shares are trading at $118.77, 2.8% above its 20-day moving average and 25.4% above its 200-day moving average. This moving average "stacking" supports the view that pullbacks are being bought rather than sold.
The longer-term moving average crossover pattern also remains constructive, with the 50-day moving average holding above the 200-day moving average since the "golden cross" in August—typically a signal that the primary trend has turned higher. Traders will also recall the recent swing low from July and the swing high from September, which serve as the latest "map" of where momentum previously flipped.
The Relative Strength Index is currently a clearer momentum indicator: at 53.79, it sits in neutral territory, suggesting the stock is not overextended and still has upside room without immediately triggering overbought warnings.
Key price levels are close enough to be meaningful for position sizing, especially with the current price above the 20-day moving average but still below the 52-week high.
Key resistance: $125—a nearby round-number zone where rallies could stall
Key support: $102—a prior demand zone, closer to the stock's intermediate-term trend structure
Edge Score
Robinhood Markets' Edge scorecard shows strong momentum and growth characteristics, while the valuation score remains neutral. The stock's momentum score is 86.74, reflecting strong recent price performance; the growth score is 89.31, indicating solid growth characteristics. Meanwhile, its valuation score is 8.66, suggesting relatively weak valuation characteristics compared to the broader market.
HOOD price action: As of Tuesday's time of writing, Robinhood Markets shares were up 0.52% at $117.06.
