Zhihu Plans to Invest RMB 1.5 Billion in AI and Frontier Tech Fund

On September 7, according to Yahoo Finance, Zhihu announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary has entered into a subscription agreement with the general partner and fund manager, planning to subscribe for RMB 1.5 billion in limited partnership interests using its own funds. Upon completion of the subscription, Zhihu is expected to hold no more than 30% interest in the fund. The fund has a term of 7 years (extendable by up to 2 years) and an investment period of 4 years, primarily targeting early- and mid-stage unlisted companies in mainland China's artificial intelligence and frontier technology sectors, covering areas such as foundational models, AI infrastructure, robotics, and AI applications.
