Bitcoin fintech company Castle has announced the opening of its automated bitcoin financial stack to individual users, introducing a first-of-its-kind feature in the category: users can choose to receive dividend payouts in cash or bitcoin at any ratio. Castle's yield comes from STRC, a perpetual preferred stock issued by Strategy that was added to the platform earlier this year and currently pays a 12% annualized dividend on a semi-monthly schedule. Users can receive 100% of their distributions in cash, convert 100% to bitcoin, or select any ratio in between. According to the company, most users opt for a middle-ground approach—covering daily expenses with cash and automatically reinvesting the remainder into bitcoin at each distribution. Castle co-founder and CTO João Almeida stated that investors have long faced a dilemma between stable yields and holding bitcoin, and Castle resolves this by automatically converting a portion of dividends into bitcoin, giving users both cash flow and long-term upside. Previously, Castle served only business clients such as restaurants, gyms, accounting firms, and e-commerce operators; the opening of individual accounts stems from repeated requests by business owners. Castle was co-founded by Almeida and CEO Stephen Cole and has received investment from Boost VC and Winklevoss Capital.
