August 21 news, the Ethereum Foundation announced the launch of an open research challenge called "Better Codes," aimed at advancing Ethereum's post-quantum cryptography, with a focus on tackling the mathematical frontiers of hash-based SNARKs. Participants can use AI agents, automated testing tools, and prompt words to submit mathematical optimization solutions, verified through Lean 4 proofs. Winners will share the Ethereum Foundation's $1 million Proximity Prize pool. The challenge is built by ZK Security and Eigen Labs in collaboration with Yukon Research.
