Japan, the largest overseas holder of US Treasuries, reduced its holdings by approximately $26.4 billion in June, bringing its position down to $1.12 trillion, the largest decrease among all countries. China followed closely, cutting its holdings by $25.9 billion to $633.4 billion. The UK held $939.9 billion, down $8.7 billion from the previous month. Since hitting a record high in February, foreign holdings have declined in three of the past four months.
