Google's Waymo Develops Custom Chips for Its Self-Driving Taxis

August 20 news, according to Cailian Press, Google's Waymo has developed a custom chip aimed at enhancing the performance of its self-driving taxis, expanding chip supply sources from third-party companies like Nvidia to in-house development. This application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chip has been put into mass production in Waymo's latest generation of self-driving taxis, improving vehicle response speed and navigation capabilities. Waymo stated that the chip's computing power exceeds 1000 TOPS and is manufactured using TSMC's 5-nanometer process.
