Iran Imports About One-Third of Goods via Dubai Transit! UAE Embargo May Surpass US Naval Blockade

After the UAE accused Iran of firing two ballistic missiles at it, it announced on the 19th the suspension of all trade, commercial, and financial dealings with Iran. Retired US Brigadier General Kimmitt noted that about one-third of Iran's imported goods must transit through Dubai, making the UAE Iran's largest source of imports. The impact of this embargo could exceed that of the US naval blockade, comparable to the comprehensive US embargo on Japan during World War II. Iran has denied launching the missiles.
