On August 31, LG Electronics will commission Samsung Electronics to manufacture AI home appliance chips, aiming to reduce its dependence on TSMC.
CoAsia SEMI will develop two IoT chips for LG, with a total project cost of 31 billion KRW (approximately 151 million RMB), spanning from July 2026 to December 2030. The project falls under the South Korean government's "K-On-Device AI Semiconductor Technology Development" initiative, which has a total budget of about 800 billion KRW.
