Michael Kong, former Chief Information Officer and CEO of the Fantom Foundation, stated that Sonic Labs issued a notice claiming his relationship with the company was terminated immediately, yet on the same day still sought his help and expressed wishes for his well-being. The notice provided no reason, and the impression it created of possible misconduct is false. Kong said his departure was not voluntary. After eight years, both parties negotiated and signed a severance and release agreement. Over the past two and a half months, Sonic Labs repeatedly promised to fulfill the agreement but now refuses to do so, and existing contractor agreements have also not been honored. The release agreement stipulated that neither party would publicly disparage the other, but Sonic Labs made it public, causing damage. Kong stated he worked at Fantom / Sonic for over eight years and almost single-handedly won a $150 million lawsuit in South Korea for the company, which was described at the time as the largest cryptocurrency dispute in the country. He reserves all rights to any claims against Sonic Labs and its affiliated parties.
