Monad Proposes Wallet Upgrade Solution to Resist Key Loss and Quantum Attacks

August 25 news, according to CoinDesk, Ethereum-compatible blockchain Monad has proposed a new wallet upgrade solution that separates wallet addresses from control credentials, allowing users to replace lost or expired keys without changing addresses or transferring assets. The design enables users to add, replace, or revoke transaction authorization credentials, supporting traditional private keys, passkeys on phones and laptops, multi-signature, and quantum-resistant cryptographic schemes. Users can also achieve account recovery after key loss, convert regular accounts to multi-sig wallets, or upgrade to post-quantum security solutions. The proposal is currently an early draft, with detailed implementation specifications yet to be written.
