NetEase UU Remote has published a third-party app access protocol on GitHub, allowing developers to add a computer remote control entry point in their own iOS and Android apps. Taking the example of adding a "Connect to Work Computer" button to an AI coding assistant, the first time a user clicks it, they are redirected to UU Remote to select and bind their Windows or Mac device; subsequent clicks initiate remote control directly without repeatedly searching for the device. Remote control supports fullscreen and picture-in-picture modes, enabling users to use other apps on their phone while operating their computer via UU Remote's floating mini-window. When away from home and checking whether Claude Code or Codex on a home Mac has completed tasks, users can directly trigger remote control from a third-party app. Developers can access connection results from the mini-window mode to determine whether the device is offline or the connection has failed. What is being opened up this time is the cross-app invocation protocol, not the remote control engine source code, nor an interface for AI to automatically operate computers. Third-party apps still need to invoke the installed UU Remote client, with actual remote control handled by NetEase. Currently, controlled devices only support Windows and macOS, and the mobile end requires UU Remote version 4.42.0 or later.
