According to The Information, citing two Nvidia employees, Nvidia plans to ship small batches of a Groq-based LPU (language processor) to Chinese customers by year-end, with several Chinese customers already placing orders. The report said the chip does not require downgraded specifications, only software adjustments to make it compatible with processors available in the Chinese market.

Nvidia subsequently denied the report, calling it "incorrect," stating that it currently has no LPU sales in China and no "China-specific LPU" in its product roadmap. In March this year, Reuters also cited sources reporting that Nvidia was preparing to sell Groq chips to China, after which Jensen Huang told Punchbowl in an interview that the report was "completely wrong," explicitly stating that Groq chips would not enter China. Official statements should be taken as the standard.
