Skild AI Launches Robot Foundation Model S1: Learns 10-Minute Tasks from a Single Video

August 26 news, general-purpose robotics company SKILD AI announced the launch of its new robot foundation model S1, which can learn to execute previously unseen tasks lasting up to 10 minutes from a single video demonstration, without any fine-tuning. S1 can combine skills acquired during pre-training or autonomously create new skills to complete tasks such as brewing coffee, planting plants, and flipping pancakes. SKILD AI stated that previously, robot learning required data collection and fine-tuning under deployment conditions spanning several hours; S1 achieves a breakthrough through in-context learning.
