South Korean AI Startup Wrtn Raises Funding at $870 Million Valuation

August 26 news, according to Jinshi citing foreign media reports, South Korean AI service platform Wrtn Technologies has completed a funding round at a valuation of 1.2 trillion Korean won (approximately $870 million) to support its global expansion. The Seoul-based startup said in a statement that its Series C round raised approximately 100 billion Korean won. Following this round, Wrtn's cumulative funding has reached approximately 230 billion Korean won. The statement said that Wrtn's North American AI narrative platform OOC has surpassed 10 billion Korean won in monthly revenue since its launch in May. The platform allows users to create or enter fictional worlds and interact with AI characters. Building on this momentum, Wrtn expects its annual revenue to exceed 200 billion Korean won this year, a significant increase from approximately 47 billion Korean won last year.
