On August 26, according to CoinDesk, a coalition of U.S. state bankers associations officially announced plans to build a nationwide distributed ledger technology (DLT) network. This move marks an attempt by traditional regional banks to jointly develop underlying blockchain technology, aiming to take the initiative in the fintech transformation.
The project team stated that the network's primary goal is to provide member institutions with a secure, low-cost, and interoperable public infrastructure for handling complex commercial banking operations and fund flows. By introducing distributed ledger technology, banks are expected to break down data silos and achieve more efficient compliance management and cross-regional settlement. Feasibility studies are currently underway.
