On August 26, ZeroHash recently submitted its second application for a national trust bank charter with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). This marks the institution's renewed push for federal-level banking regulatory status, following its initial attempt in March this year.

The background of ZeroHash's latest application stems from the setback of its first filing. On July 17, the OCC, without undergoing substantive review procedures, directly returned ZeroHash's initial submission, citing "material deficiencies" in the application documents. This resubmission is seen as the company's corrective and renewed effort in response to regulatory feedback. If approved, ZeroHash would become a national trust company regulated under federal law, thereby providing its clients with digital asset custody and financial services of higher credibility.
