Coinbase and Webull announced the expansion of their crypto trading and custody partnership to the Canadian market. Webull Canada's platform will leverage Coinbase's Crypto-as-a-Service infrastructure, adopting its institutional-grade custody and trading services to provide Canadian investors with access to digital asset trading. This expansion follows the model previously deployed in the United States, Brazil, and Australia. According to a survey by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), cryptocurrency ownership in Canada has risen from 10% in 2023 to 25%. Coinbase Canada is registered as a Restricted Dealer in all provinces and territories, providing regulatory support for this rollout. Following the announcement, both companies' shares edged lower in early trading, with Webull down approximately 1.3%.
