GTA 6 Trailer Features Dacity Coin, Same-Name Solana Meme Coin Surges 2900%

Rockstar released the GTA 6 launch trailer on Thursday, in which an aircraft fuselage bears the text "DacityCoin AudaCity" and a character ignites a neon pink flare on the wing. "Dacity Coin" appears for only about two seconds, yet it triggered a surge in on-chain trading activity. Within one hour of the trailer's release, a same-name meme coin on Solana jumped 2900% from a $104,000 market cap, briefly reaching $3.18 million. Since the token was created five days before the trailer's release, traders had ample time to buy in before the surge. The token's origin stems from leaked GTA 6 gameplay footage by renowned Rockstar hacker "Cyberleek," which featured Dacity Coin, but only a few traders noticed it at the time. The coin launched on October 11 on Solana launchpad Pump.fun, with its market cap briefly hitting $1.14 million before retreating to $144,700 and trading sideways until Thursday's sharp rally. According to DEX Screener data, 24 traders profited over $10,000 from the token, with the top earner turning $1,912 into $44,000. Dacity's current market cap stands at $1.5 million, down about 53% from its $3.18 million peak. Per the GTA wiki, protagonist Lucia is tasked with promoting the AudaCity brand through a skydiving stunt and attracting investment for Dacity Coin. If accurate, the game appears to satirize the extreme stunts meme coin creators have performed for years to promote their tokens. Similar precedents exist: in February 2025, Fortnite added a fictional cryptocurrency called Dill Bits, followed by a real same-name token on Solana that peaked at $4.78 million before crashing 96%; in April of the same year, after Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney called it a scam, the coin surged another 2700% before dropping 82% within days. Rockstar has not yet responded regarding Dacity Coin.
