Palo Alto Networks, Inc. received a price target hike from Cantor Fitzgerald on Wednesday, ahead of the company's fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 results.

Analysts Jonathan Ruykhaver and Ben Mitchell raised the 12-month price target from $340 to $425, while maintaining an Overweight rating.

Cantor said next-generation security annual recurring revenue in preliminary FY2027 guidance—a metric measuring recurring subscription-based security revenue expected each year—is the core event in the upcoming results.

FactSet consensus implies a FY2027 NGS ARR growth rate of 22.1%, and Cantor said the stock needs initial guidance above that level to justify its current valuation. The firm's model projects organic net new NGS ARR of approximately $573 million for the quarter.

Track Record and Channel Partner Survey

Cantor noted Palo Alto Networks stock trades at an estimated FY2027 enterprise value-to-free cash flow ratio of 59.8x, compared to a peer average of 21.4x.

The firm said Palo Alto Networks has beaten consensus estimates for both revenue and NGS ARR in each of the past nine quarters, with revenue surprises averaging approximately 0.9% and ARR surprises averaging approximately 2%.

Cantor's survey of 27 partners found 63% reported sales above plan, up from 57% in the prior quarter, while partners reporting results below plan fell from 18% to 15%.

Partners told Cantor that customers are embracing the company's CyberArk and Chronosphere acquisition strategy, although partners indicated both integrations are in early stages.

CyberArk Integration and AI Security Demand

Palo Alto Networks completed its acquisition of CyberArk in February and launched Idira in May, an identity platform built on CyberArk's privileged access management technology.

Cantor said CyberArk's NGS ARR exceeds $1.3 billion, up 27% year-over-year, with synergy targets achieved three to six months ahead of schedule. The firm said it continues to expect an inflection point in AI security spending in late 2026 or early 2027.

PANW Price Action: Palo Alto Networks shares fell 4.46% to $357.44 at the time of Wednesday's data release.
